“I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them.” (Ezekiel 37:26)
When Adam and Eve were expelled to somewhere east of Eden, their only hope was that through their seed deliverance would come. But the callous behavior of Cain made this one strand of hope diminish even further as he was expelled further east. In spite of the seemingly dismal prospects of mankind, God always had in view reconciliation that is eternal and sure. The principle always is in force: when we come to grips with how little we can do on our own, God brings forth that which is beyond what we can imagine.
